Cleaning chemistry isn't optional — the right formulation is what makes ultrasonic cavitation actually lift contamination, not just shake it loose. Elma Tec Clean (made in Germany) covers the precision end of the range with seven targeted pH-tuned concentrates; Allkleen (formulated in NZ by Techspan) covers the volume end for workshops and dairy facilities — including MPI-approved Allkleen Dairy for food-area incidental contact.

Each Tec Clean and Allkleen concentrate is tuned for a specific contamination set and a specific list of compatible substrates — pH ranges from acidic 1.6 (S1, for de-rusting) through neutral 9.3 (N1) up to strongly alkaline 13.4 (A4). Pick the chemistry that matches your job.

Elma Tec Clean A1

Electronics & optics · pH 10.8

Mildly alkaline, silicate & phosphate-free. For PCBs, fluxing residue, fine optics and lens elements. Dilute 3–10%.

Precious metals · pH 11.0

With ammonia, mildly alkaline. Lifts polishing & lapping compound from gold, silver, brass, nickel and titanium. Test zinc and aluminium first.

Steel, iron & titanium · pH 13.0

Mildly alkaline, silicate-free. Removes punching oils, drawing grease, soot and high-performance coolants from ferrous & precious metals. Not for aluminium.

The workshop / lab / clinic all-rounder. Strong alkaline cleaner for stainless, steel, aluminium, brass, ceramics and glass. Removes coking, soot, oil and grease.

Heavy-duty powder · pH 11.5

Powder concentrate. Cuts through forged & resinified oils, lacquer remnants, paint and wax on steel, iron, aluminium and zinc. The serious end of the range.

Neutral all-metals · pH 9.3

Neutral, silicate & phosphate-free. Safe across all metals, plastics, ceramics, glass and rubber. Lifts grinding paste, fingerprints and lapping media.

Acidic descaler · pH 1.6

Mild acid emulsifier. Removes rust, lime, oxide films and scale from non-ferrous, stainless, aluminium, brass and steel. Rinse with anti-corrosive immediately after.

Techspan-formulated aqueous concentrate for the NZ workshop. Carbs, diesel parts, carbon deposits, oil and grease. Dilute 1:60 light through 1:5 heavy. Not for aluminium.

Mild aqueous concentrate with ammonia for gentle brightening of gold, silver and jewellery with hard stones. 5–10 minute cycles at 3–10% dilution.
