Match the chemistry to the soil: Tec Clean A1 for electronics PCBs and fine optics; A2 / A3 / A4 for general workshop and automotive grease; A5 for stubborn industrial soiling; N1 for non-ferrous metals; S1 for stainless and surgical instruments; Super Clean for jewellery (gold, silver, hard stones); Allkleen Industrial / Dairy for general industrial and food-grade work. Most Elma solutions run at a 3–10% dilution in water, with a typical cycle of 5–10 minutes. Heat (40–80°C where supported) makes a big difference on grease and oil. Check the datasheet on this page for the exact mix ratio, and run a short test cycle first if you're cleaning something unfamiliar.
Yes — these solutions are formulated to work in any ultrasonic bath, not just Elma. The chemistry is independent of the cleaner brand. If you're switching from another brand of fluid you can change over straight away.
Replace the bath when the solution gets visibly dirty or stops cleaning effectively — typically every 1–2 weeks of regular use, or sooner with heavy soiling. NZ's hard water can shorten that, so deionised water in the bath is a small upgrade worth considering if you clean daily.
