This page covers the Elmasonic EASY range — EASY 10, 10H, 20, 20H, 30, 30H, 40H, 60H,
100H, 120H, 180H and 300H. The detail below is taken from the Elma operating instructions

How the controls work
EASY units are deliberately simple: a cleaning-duration rotary knob and a Start/Stop button.
There is no frequency selector and no Sweep or Pulse mode — every EASY unit runs at a single
37 kHz.
- Off — rotary knob turned to OFF, all LEDs off.
- On — knob turned to ON, or a cleaning duration of 1–30 minutes selected. The LED
for the set ultrasound mode lights. - Cleaning — press Start/Stop. The cleaning-duration LED flashes while ultrasound
runs. Press Start/Stop again at any point to end the cycle. - Complete — a short audible signal sounds at the end of the set duration and the
cleaning-duration LED returns to steady. - Safety switch-off — the unit shuts down automatically after 8 hours of inactivity
or after a brief power interruption. Press any button or turn the knob to wake it.
Before your first cycle
Degas every fresh bath. New liquid holds dissolved air that absorbs ultrasonic energy and suppresses
cavitation, so cleaning is poor until the gas is driven out. Run the unit for roughly 10 minutes with
the liquid in and the basket out, then load your work.
Installation requirements
The EASY range is designed for commercial premises such as laboratories and medical practices. The
manual is specific about siting:
- Well-ventilated location.
- A sturdy, horizontal, non-slip, moisture-resistant and non-flammable work surface.
- Enough clearance above the unit to lift the cover and the items out.
- Space beside the unit to set the basket and inserts down.
- A splash-proof earthed socket near the unit — the cable is about 1.5 m.
- The supply must be protected by a residual-current device (RCD).

Ultrasonic frequency across the EASY range is 37 kHz (tolerance −2.5 / +5.5 kHz).
Effective ultrasonic power figures carry a ±10% tolerance. “H” models are heated.
Maintenance
Keep the enclosure and tank clean, disinfect where your protocol requires it, and on sizes 120 and
up check that the blower is clear and running. The mains cable is replaceable. Anything beyond routine
operation and cleaning must be done by a qualified, authorised technician.
If cleaning performance drops off, confirm the bath is actually cavitating before you assume the
unit is faulty — a SonoCheck test vial gives you a pass or fail in one
cycle.
Frequently asked questions
What frequency is the Elmasonic EASY?
37 kHz on every model in the range. Unlike the P and Select ranges, EASY units do not offer a
switchable 80 kHz setting.
How long can I set the timer for?
1 to 30 minutes, or continuous by turning the knob to ON. A short beep marks the end of a timed cycle.
My unit turned itself off — is it faulty?
Probably not. EASY units switch off automatically after 8 hours of inactivity or after a brief
power interruption. Press a button or turn the rotary knob to wake the unit.
Which cleaning solution should I use?
It depends on the contamination and the substrate, not the machine. We stock the
Elma TEC CLEAN range in New Zealand — tell us
what you are cleaning and we will match a concentrate and dilution.
